We are searching for a Marine Operations Manager for the Marine Projects department.
Responsibilities:
The Marine Operations Manager is charged with preparing, executing, managing and evaluating the operational aspects of both simple and complex maritime projects to ensure that the contracts are implemented in accordance with the established budget and quality standards. The position has a strong international character and involves a great deal of contact with clients abroad.

We are searching for a Marine Operations Manager for the Marine Projects department.
Responsibilities:
The Marine Operations Manager is charged with preparing, executing, managing and evaluating the operational aspects of both simple and complex maritime projects to ensure that the contracts are implemented in accordance with the established budget and quality standards. The position has a strong international character and involves a great deal of contact with clients abroad.

You advise during the tendering phase on the engineering aspects of projects. You draft manuals and plans for contract projects to ensure that they are implemented in accordance with the established quality standards and budget. You are also responsible for executing the projects according to contract provisions as a means of achieving the project objectives and for ensuring the availability of qualified workers with the proper certifications and of materials and other resources, so that the project is carried out efficiently. To accomplish these aims, you will perform regular inspections. Additionally, you ensure that SMIT and project-specific SHEQ standards are observed by both SMIT and contract personnel during the course of operations.
At the end of each project, you will evaluate the project objectives and report on lessons learned. You are continuously involved in improving methods and techniques in your field to offer SMIT a competitive advantage at all times.
Projects have an average duration of six to eight months, during which you will manage a team of 20 to 40 project employees including the crew (varies according to project).

Performance indicators:
• Quality, practicability, feasibility of procedures/manuals/plans;
• Hiring qualified workers and procuring materials (at the best cost-quality ratio) and resources;
• The degree to which the project is realised on budget;
• Identification, evaluation and verification of all SHEQ aspects during the course of operations.
Requirements:
• An institute of engineering and technology (HTS) degree (Mechanical Engineering, General Operational Engineering or Marine Engineering);
• At least 10 years’ experience with maritime/offshore projects;
• Excellent written and spoken English.
