AB / Able Seaman

Division: Transport & Heavy Lift
Country: The Netherlands

Purpose:
Supporting the ship’s management in administering the ship and using the available resources as efficiently as possible in order to achieve the operational objectives set within the scope of the company strategy and in accordance with the statutory regulations and internal procedures (shipping area: Europe and outside Europe).

Responsibilities:

* Ensuring that orders from the ship’s management during the performance of activities on the ship are followed in a safe and efficient manner in order to ensure that the customer’s needs are met and the statutory regulations and internal guidelines and procedures are complied with;
* Performing maintenance on the ship (both inside and outside the engine room) to ensure that the ship can be used for the relevant activities in accordance with the statutory requirements and the internal standards and requirements;
* Performing cleaning duties in order to help create a hygienic and pleasant work environment;
* Reporting unsafe situations and acts, thereby ensuring increased safety in accordance with the statutory requirements and internal guidelines and procedures;
* Participating and assisting in safety exercises in order to allow the official and the ship’s crew to respond adequately and in accordance with the statutory requirements and internal guidelines and procedures.


Requirements:

* Service certificate for inland navigation and/or valid STCW 95 certification with an ‘All ships’ rating;
* Valid medical certificate for the maritime industry;
* Native Dutch Speaker;
* Result-oriented;
* Tenacious;
* Flexible;
* Team player;
* Proactive.
